Flexible Respite Care
Our respite services give carers the time to rest and recharge while we look after your loved one. We provide regular, planned or emergency care in home or outside the home.
We help you plan your respite needs so you can take a break, stay connected to your community and feel supported in your caring role.
Flexible respite is available in the day or overnight. It can be provided in your home or in the community. Our support workers can provide care in your home or take you out for a few hours so that your usual carer can take a short break.
Respite care is there to support you and your carer for short periods of time. It can give you both a break and can also give you the chance to meet new people.
We help you plan your respite needs so you can take a break so that you have time to do everyday activities, recharge, and reconnect with your life. We can connect you to a wide range of services that can support you in your caring role.
Respite care is much more than just holding down the fort. We take a personal approach to your care by listening to you and your family needs, then building a plan based on your individual circumstances – for as little or as long as you need.
We also carefully match you or your loved one with experienced staff who suit your needs and personality. As locals from the community, our home care workers take the time to get to know you, so you can feel comfortable in their care.
Access to Flexible Respite services vary based on your situation and government funding through the HCP or CHSP program.
Flexible Respite can be arranged:
Day or evening
Weekdays, weekends and public holidays
Evening and overnight stays
Regular, occasional or one-off support
Book at short notice or in advance
In an emergency - If the unexpected happens which you didn’t plan ahead for, we can provide respite and in-home support at short notice.
Flexible Respite Care Service Costs & Fees
You can receive PAWA Community Care’s Flexible Respite Care services through your:
Support at Home Program under Respite
Commonwealth Home Support Program funding under Home & Community General Respite
Costs vary depending on whether you are eligible for government funding. You’ll generally be charged an hourly or overnight rate.
