Our Story

PAWA Community Care story began in 1974, when Polish Welfare and Information Bureau, a not-for-profit association, was created by community members to support Polish migrants to settle successfully in Australian society.

In 1994 our first home care services were funded by Australian Government to deliver in-home respite services.

Over the years, the organisation grew, extended range of home services and became a home care provider specialising in supporting seniors from all walks of life, especially those from multicultural communities.

For 50 years, our commitment to deliver quality community services to improve people’s lives is unwavering.

Whilst our name may have changed over time, we are proud of our origins that remain a significant part of our identity.

Our commitment and values have continued to be centred on the needs of older Australians, especially those facing barriers and challenges to access aged care services.
